Flights cancelled because of coronavirus

Coronavirus has become a real WorldWideWeb virus infection, looking at how many media including social media writes about it.

Coronavirus is a viral disease with flu-like symptoms like general cold feeling, sore throat, runny nose, headache, muscle and joint pain. More serious complications of coronavirus, as with the flu, are high fever and pneumonia. The last two complications are the ones that can be fatal to people with lower immune systems. Just because a person is infected with coronavirus does not mean that he or she will get pneumonia, or worse, die. A person with a healthy and strong immune system may not be infected with the virus at all. People with lower immune systems, such as toddlers, pregnant women, elderly and people with chronic diseases, must avoid crowded places like fairs and airports, writes ShittyHealth.

Your rights if your flight is delayed or cancelled

In case you booked a flight that departed from Europe or booked an EU airline flight that arrived to Europe, you may have rights under European law in case your flight is not on time or cancelled.

For the EU law to apply, you’ll need to:

  1. Have departed from the United Kingdom, European Union (EU), Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland
  2. Have arrived to the United Kingdom, European Union (EU), Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland by EU airline/carrier.
Delayed or cancelled flight compensation

You can claim over 530 pounds in compensation when you had your flight delayed or cancelled!

In case your flight’s not on time for two or more hours

Your airline need to come up with:

  • foods and drinks
  • get entry to the phone calls and emails
  • accommodation if you’re not on time in a single day – and trips between the airport and the motel

The airline should give you vouchers to get this stuff on the airport. Ask a person who works for the airline if you’re not presented any assist.

In the event that they don’t give you assist on the airport, hold receipts for expenses and try to claim from the airline later.

If your flight’s delayed for 3 or more hours

You have already got a legal right to food and drinks, phone calls and accomodation – you get this whilst the flight is not on time for 2 hours or extra.

You’re also entitled to get compensation if the disruption is the airline’s responsibility – for instance, if they didn’t get sufficient bookings or there has been a technical fault.

You can’t get compensation if the delay was caused by some thing like terrible climate or a strike.

The exact amount of compensation depends on:

  • the potential distance of the flight
  • the length of the delay – how late you arrived to the final destination
